Objective

The student is able to utilize the possibilities of Building Information Modeling (BIM) in different stages of a building's lifecycle. The student is able to use coordination software for automated, rule-based inspections of buildings. The student is able to handle models and extract the necessary information from them. The student is able to use the visuality of models when reviewing plans. The student is able to use the possibilities of BIM in assessing the environmental impact of buildings.

Content

Requirements, guidelines, and concepts of Building Information Modeling.
Technologies and processes of BIM.
Basics of coordination and inspection software.
Finding and compiling information visually and through software.
Utilization of BIM in design, construction, and building operation and maintenance.

Location and time

Classroom instruction as scheduled in OMA.
Follow the schedule and announcements, as changes may occur.

The student is able to, under guidance, utilize the possibilities of Building Information Modeling (BIM) in different stages of a building's lifecycle. The student is able to use coordination software for automated, rule-based inspections of buildings by using example solutions. The student is able to, with guidance, handle models and extract the necessary information from them. The student is able to use the visuality of models when reviewing plans according to instructions. The student is able to use the possibilities of BIM in assessing the environmental impact of buildings.
