Objective

The student knows the principles, structural requirements, standards, regulations and technical instructions of Building Automation Systems (BAS). The student can read the technical documents of the BAS. The student can draw up plans for BAS. The student can explain the typical roles of building services project group members. The student has the basic skills to work in the project. The student knows how to compare solutions in terms of energy efficiency and overall economy.

Content

The operating principles and the structure of the BAS. Regulations and instructions. Technical documents and project documentation. Automatic control of heating. Automation of the air handling unit. Room control. The feedback control systems. The sequence of operation. User interface. The points of control of the fieldbus. The basics of PLC programming.

Teaching methods

Käytämme työmuotoja: monimuoto-opetus, luennot, tuntitehtävät, itseopiskelutehtävät, tekemällä oppiminen ja harjoitustehtävät.

Tentti järjestetään opintojakson toteutusaikana. Uusinnoissa noudatamme tutkintosäännön pykälää 34.

Completion alternatives

Toteutussuunnitelmasta poikkeamisesta on sovittava opettajan kanssa.

Student workload

Sovellamme eurooppalaista opintosuoritusjärjestelmää (ECTS, European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System), jossa yksi opintopiste vastaa noin 25-30 tuntia työtä. Jos aiheet ovat tuttuja, voi toteutunut aika jäädä lyhyemmäksi. Opiskelijan ajankäyttö ja kuormitus käsitellään toteutussuunnitelmassa.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student can draw up plans for BAS. The student is able to memorize the knowledge listed in the Objectives. The student has returned the assignments in an acceptable manner.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

In addition to the requirements mentioned above, the student can apply the things studied to new similar tasks. The student has returned the assignments according to the implementation plan.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

In addition to the above mentioned requirements, the student is able to compare alternatives and give reasons for his or her choices. The returned assignments show the touch of an independent expert.
