Study unit consist of following parts:
Study and career planning 1 cu
Professional competence in health care 2 op
Professional digital and communication skills 2 op

Learning assignments:
• Group discussion (a scientific article)
• Individual assignment (literature search)
• Group assignment related to the nursing field including communication and IT skills. Output is a written assignment and a poster based on it. The poster is presented in a final seminar.

Further information

The course is completed hybrid. Some of the lessons are only online. In some lessons there is also contact teaching at Myllypuro campus, in these lessons student can choose participating online or at campus.

Additional information:
• Participation in the orientation lesson is mandatory.
• In case of absence, the student finds out the content of teaching from Moodle and other students.

RPL:
• Full approval: The student has conducted the same implementation before (for example during Open UAS studies).
• Partly based on previous studies in health care in higher education

Use of artificial intelligence (AI):
Artificial intelligence can be utilized for brainstorming in written assignments, but it should not be used as a substitute for independent thinking and writing. Editing the language and style of self-produced text is permitted, but generating entire texts using AI is not allowed. If you use AI, its use must be transparently disclosed. Failure to disclose the use of AI will be considered misconduct. When using AI, please familiarize yourself with Metropolia's guidelines for AI usage and take responsibility for adhering to these guidelines.

• Participation in the group discussion on Moodle platform.
• Individual literature search assignment is done.
• A group learning assignment that is done following Metropolia's written work guidelines and utilizing Metropolia's digital learning environments.
