Objective

The learning objectives of the course include knowledge of the phases of a construction project and their content, as well as the different parties involved in a construction project and what role each party plays. The student knows the importance of construction in society, taking into account sustainable development. The student knows the key areas of a construction economics and management as well as basic concepts of property management.

Content

On completion of the course the student knows
- the importance of the construction industry and sustainable construction in society
- different branches of the construction industry
- phases and stakeholders of a construction project
- basics of construction economics and management.

Location and time

The course is implemented with a Zoom connection.
The course starts in week 3 and ends with the exam in week 14. After this, two re-examination sessions will be organized, the dates of which will be announced after the exam session.
The exam and re-exams are organized on site at the school.

Teaching methods

The course is implemented with a Zoom connection
The course includes one teaching session per week, the content of which is focused on lectures on different topics
In addition to the lectures, self-paced exercises are given at the end of the lessons, which the students do independently. The solutions to the exercises will be reviewed at the beginning of the next lesson. These exercises are not returnable.
At the end of the course, there will be an exam. The exam is conducted on site at the school
There will be two re-examination of the course in the same way as the actual exam.

- basics and concepts of key areas of construction and project management

There are no returnable or graded exercises or assignments in the course.
There is no obligation to attend the courses Zoom teaching session.
The course grade is formed based on the exam grade.
