Objective

The students are able to produce information by critically evaluating it and master the principles of communication related to professional expertise and academic writing, and are able to communicate each subject matter appropriately. They are able to utilise communication in the management of the organization and societal influencing. They are able to develop oral and written communication skills and their ICT capabilities

Content

Various communication needs and objectives of expert communication. Communication tools for different communication situations and needs. Societal communication. Communication in organizations. The student’s own communication skills. Interpretation and conclusions of the thesis results, as well as reporting the work and communicating the results. A seminar on renewed health care and social services.

Location and time

Lecturers are scheduled and can be found in Oma. The course covers the spring semester 2025 and the fall semester 2025. The schedule for the fall semester will be announced in the spring

Student workload

The scope of the course is 5 credits, 135 hours. The course is scheduled on spring and fall semesters 2025. This study module is targeted to Master Lever students of social services. The final seminar will take place on fall semester 2025.

• is familiar with management systems, understands their meaning and knows how to apply them to work community/organisation

Management and development in the field of social services:
• masters the principles of strategic and operative management and knows how to apply them to practice flexibly in managerial duties
• is familiar with management systems and knows how to apply them to versatile work communities, organisations and networks
• develops and manages services and service units ethically enabling their participation.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

Management and development in the field of social services:
• masters the principles of strategic and operative management and knows how to apply them to practice flexibly in demanding and complex managerial situations
• is familiar with management systems and knows how to apply them to versatile work communities, organisations and networks
• develops and manages services and service units ethically and in a socially sustainable manner as well as can lead the activities of work communities in an inspiring and renewing manner.
