Objective

The students are able to examine violence as an individual, community based and societal phenomenon. They can examine traumas and crises in the individual life course. They recognize the risk of abuse and intimate partner violence in the lives of individuals of different ages.
The students acquire the skills to verbally bring up violence and learn a trauma-conscious work approach. The students are able to guide the clients to the services in trauma and crisis work as well as violence prevention work.

Content

Key concepts and theories in the phenomena of crises, trauma and violence. Trauma, crises and the risks of violence in the lives of individuals of different ages. Legislation related to intimate partner violence. Forms of trauma, crisis and violence prevention work and multidisciplinary cooperation. Speaking up.

In the orientation the Discussion groups will be formulated. The groups will decide on the schedules of 3 learning circle meetings (3 x 1,5 hours) independently (suggested slots booked).

The Accreditation of prior learning must be done before the beginning of the course. APL responsible lecturer is Sylvia Hakari The teacher has the right to add assignments based on pedagogical evaluation.
