Objective
After completing the course, students are able in conducting their own thesis,
- use and apply appropriate research and development strategies and methods for research-based service development for older people
- critically evaluate the results of research-based development activities’ results and lead research-based development of older people's services in their work community and renew knowledge related to older people's services practice
- communicate and argue about the multifaceted and multidisciplinary knowledge related to ageing and the field’s research and development activities in national and international contexts, in written, oral and digital form
- act in accordance with good research ethics

Students are able in conducting their own thesis:
- manage the research and research-based development process in accordance with research ethics principles and communicate the results of their research and development activities
- define and appropriately use research and research-based development strategies and methods, including data collection methods
- critically examine research data in the context of their own development activities
Assessment criteria, good (3)
Students are able in conducting their own thesis:
- manage the research and research-based development process in a goal-oriented manner, evaluate it in accordance with research ethics principles and communicate the results of their research and research-based development activities
- analyse and appropriately apply research and research-based development strategies and methods, including data collection methods
- critically analyse and apply research data in the context of their own development activities
Assessment criteria, excellent (5)
Students are able in conducting their own thesis:
- lead the research and research-based development process in a goal-oriented manner, critically evaluate it in accordance with research ethics principles and communicate the results of their research and research-based development activities in a versatile manner
- critically evaluate and apply a wide range of appropriate research and research-based development strategies and methods, including data collection methods
- critically evaluate research data from the perspective of their own development activities
- critically analyse research data in the context of their own development activities
