Objective

The student
• knows the history of typography and understands its influence on typography
• understands the laws of typographic expression
• is able to use their knowledge of typography to formulate text in a visually appropriate way
• understands the basics of digital lettering technology and is able to design typography for digital environments.

The student is able to produce typographic works that follow the laws of typography.

Students apply the laws of typographic expression in their work. They can justify their typographic choices.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

Students will apply the laws of typographic expression in their work independently and with high quality. The student will be able to use typographic choices to reinforce, in a reasoned way, the message conveyed.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

The student is able to produce typographic works that follow the laws of typography.
