Objective

On completion of the course the student is familiar with control mechanisms at different stages of a construction project.
The student can analyse built environment.
The student can observe inside and outside stresses on a structure caused by weather conditions and different activities. The students knows the principles of infrastructure construction. The students knows the principles of HVAC space reservations.

Content

Process and tools for land use and construction
Construction project documentation and drawings
The phases of a building project and parties involved
Typical building types and main building solutions
Heat, water, fire and acoustic insulation
Water management of the building facade, roof and related environment
HVAC space reservations
The basics of infrastructure construction.

Teaching methods

The course is conducted completely remotely, i.e. as an online course on the Moodle platform. Moodle has the lecture materials in pdf format and the lecture videos are also in Moodle. There is no exam in the course. The course includes assignments that must be completed with approval.
