Tavoitteet

In this course, you will gain a deep understanding of the key concepts and principles of user experience, user interface, and interaction design, taught by a seasoned game industry art director with over 20 years of experience in making user interfaces and creating experiences on mobile, consoles and PC. You will learn about the adapted Atomic Design System and how it can be applied to game UI design. Additionally, you will develop skills in making user interfaces through principles of graphic design and exercises. Furthermore, you will understand the concept of ceremonies in game design and how it can be used to improve the overall user experience. By the end of the course, you will be equipped with the knowledge and skills to create engaging and effective user interfaces for games.

Sisältö

UI / UX course, created by a seasoned game industry art director with over 20 years of experience in making user interfaces and creating experiences on mobile, consoles, and PC, covers four modules that are designed to give a comprehensive understanding of the interplay between user experience (UX), user interface (UI), and interaction design (IxD) in the context of game development. The first module will introduce you to these concepts and help you navigate the jargon. The second module will introduce you to the adapted Atomic Design System, a design philosophy that is adapted and illustrated specifically for game UI use. The third module will dive deeper into making user interfaces by reminding you of the principles of graphic design and putting those principles into practice through exercises. Finally, the fourth module will explore the concept of ceremonies and how thinking of game design as a series of ceremonies can improve the overall user experience.
