Objective

The student
• is able to name the most common surface materials used in interior design
• is able to define materials suitable for different applications based on their qualitative properties, usability and sustainability
• recognises the processing steps of materials and surface treatment techniques
• is able to make a surface plan for the space and to prepare work specification.

The student
• has partially achieved the objectives of the course
• can name a selection of the most common surface materials used in interior design.
• understands what materials are suitable for different uses of the interior design
• knows the importance of surface material design as part of a high-quality design work
• is able to take into account the suitability of different surface material alternatives in their work
• has successfully completed the assignments.

• is familiar with the selection of the most common surface materials used in interior design
• knows what materials are suitable for different indoor uses
• knows and understands the importance of surface material design as part of a high-quality design result

• has successfully completed the course assignments and is able to apply what they have learnt in carrying them out.
