Objective

The student
• has basic knowledge of renovation and how buildings from different periods are maintained, repaired and completed
• is able to record the building heritage through scale and detail drawings and photographs
• knows the methods of repairing old structures, either for preservation or replacement
• is able to apply building regulations to renovation work
• is able to design renovation projects taking into account the specific architectural features.

• Type of construction, materials, equipment and arrangement of premises
• Buildings and structures of different eras
• Old supplies and replacement
• Application of building regulations in renovation construction

The student
• has partially achieved the objectives of the course
• understands the whole related to renovation building design with its components, and knows their significance as part of the quality of the final design work
• understands how buildings from different eras are maintained, repaired, and completed
• is able to record building heritage with dimensional and detailed drawings and photographs
• is able to take into account different aspects and special features of renovation design in their own work
• has successfully completed the assignments.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The student
• has achieved the objectives of the course well
• knows the whole related to renovation design with its components, and understands their significance as part of the quality of the final design work
• knows how buildings of different eras are maintained, repaired and completed
• is able to appropriately record the building heritage with dimensional and detailed drawings as well as photographs
• is able to use and apply different renovation building design methods in their own work and take into account the special features of their renovation construction
• has successfully completed the course assignments and has been able to apply what they have learnt in carrying them out.

The student
• has excellently achieved the objectives of the course
• extensively masters the whole related to renovation building design with its associated components, and thoroughly understands their significance as part of a high-quality design outcome
• has an in-depth knowledge of how buildings of different eras are maintained, repaired and completed
• is able to skillfully and appropriately record the building heritage with dimensional and detailed drawings as well as photographs
• is able to skillfully use and appropriately apply different renovation building design methods in their own work and to take into account the special features of their renovation construction
• has successfully completed the course assignments and applied what they have learnt with particular merit.
