Objective

On completion of the course, the student's will have developed his/her thermodynamic thinking, and he/she will be familiar with common thermodynamic applications in his/her field of engineering. The student will be familiar with the concept of energy efficiency.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student understands the basics of thermodynamic thinking and can solve simple tasks related to energy technology.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The student is able to use thermodynamic thinking to solve simple problems related to his/her own field of engineering, and solve tasks related to energy technology.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student is able to use thermodynamic thinking to solve problems related to energy technology and solve tasks related to energy technology.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

The student understands the basics of thermodynamic thinking and can solve simple tasks related to energy technology.

Assessment methods and criteria

There is no exam in the course. The grade is determined by two things:

Home bills 25%.

Personal pV drawing 75%.

In addition, you must take the ilmasto nyt course (https://climateuniversity.fi/portfolio-items/ilmasto-nyt/). Attendance of the course is a pass requirement and is evidenced by putting the certificate obtained from the course on your return.

The pV drawing and the climate.now course are compulsory, but the homework is optional. Failure to do them will only drop your grade by one quarter.
