Objective

After completing the course, the student
• knows the structure and use of the most common graphical user interfaces
• understands what the user experience consists of, knows the components of usability and the standards that define usability
• is able to evaluate the usability of the user interface
• can design software that meets user needs, taking into account user-centred design principles and accessibility.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student
• can define the concept of usability and is familiar with the related standards
• knows the key methods in user-centred design.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

In addition to the above, the student
• can evaluate the usability from the point of view of human information processing capabilities
• knows the fundamentals of usability studies and is able to apply design patterns in designing their own user interfaces.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

In addition to the above, the student
• can apply the methods of usability studies in various situations
• is able to evaluate accessibility in user interfaces
• is able to use automated tools for testing the functionality of a user interface.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

The student
• can define the concept of usability and is familiar with the related standards
• knows the key methods in user-centred design.

Qualifications

Object-oriented programming and web programming.
