Objective

The student will be able to execute building measurements in coordinate and vertical coordinate reference systems. Students become familiar with a variety of structural measurements and manages the associated geodetic calculations.

Content

Coordinate and height systems,
Distance and altitude difference measurement
Geodetic measurements and calculations to the building
Structures in place measurement.

Evaluation scale

0-5

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student is able to
-
-
- describe the coordinate and height systems
- describe the principles of surveying techniques
- calculate the azimuth and distance between two points in a geodetic coordinate system
- use the levelling instrument and the total station in the given maximum time and within the given precision tolerance.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The student is able to
-
-
- calculate the azimuth and distance between two points in a geodetic coordinate system
- calculate the dihedral angle between two planes in a geodetic coordinate system (the Helmert transformation)
- complete the use test of the leveling instrument and the total station within the average value of the minimum and maximum time limits and within the given precision tolerance.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student is able to
-
-
- calculate the azimuth and distance between two points in a geodetic coordinate system
- calculate the dihedral angle between two planes in a geodetic coordinate system (the Helmert transformation)
- calculate, in a geodetic coordinate system, the required local coordinates for the position measurement of structures
- complete the use test of the levelling instrument and the total station within the minimum time and the given precision tolerance.
