Objective

The student is able to use podiatry equipment and devices safely and purposefully. The student is able to follow quality aseptic technique in patient interactions. The student knows the principles of using instrument service devices and is able to use them safely and secure high quality instrument service.

The student is able to choose the appropriate podiatry methods for the skin and nail diseases and skin and nail anomaly treatment and supporting external pharmaceutical treatment. The student is able to combine skin and nail anomaly treatments to client’s other podiatric care. The student is able to treat skin and nail anomalies appropriately and safely. The student is able to use nail straightening methods in a quality and appropriate manner. The student is able to use different wart treatment methods and is able to utilize laser treatment possibilities in podiatric care. The student is able to utilize the possibilities of podiatric care while caring for patients with skin diseases.
