Objective

This course is based on the curriculum of Logistics on the University of Applied Science Amsterdam. It provides an introduction to logistics and supply chain management, covering the key components and their importance in optimizing business operations. Through a series of lectures, discussions, and activities, you will gain an understanding of logistics concepts, transportation modes and their trade-offs, warehousing and inventory management, forecasting and production control, and co-creation in logistics.

By the end of the course, you will be able to define logistics and supply chain management, identify and evaluate different modes of transportation, explain the importance of warehousing and inventory management, solve transportation problems, understand the significance of forecasting and production control, and promote collaboration and co-creation in logistics.

By the end of the course, you will have gained a solid understanding of logistics and its importance in supply chain management. You will be able to identify different modes of transportation and make informed transport decisions based on tradeoffs. You will also have a good understanding of warehousing and inventory management, location determination, and solving transportation problems. Additionally, you will have learned about the importance of forecasting and production control in logistics, and how co-creation and collaboration can be promoted. Overall, this course will provide you with a strong foundation in logistics and supply chain management, enabling you to succeed in your future studies and career.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

The assessment will be based on the feedback of the students and the teacher. The feedback will be given during discussions and working on exercises. The feedback will be collected by the students and presented in any form by the end of the week. The student will be given a pass or fail after sharing and discussing the feedback and outcomes of the week based on the course objectives.
