Diversity in Elderly Care (5 cr)

Objective

The students are able to:

• identify the older person’s position from the points of view of linguistic and cultural minorities, disability, sexual orientation and gender diversity
• describe ways to encounter an older person with a disability in different ways
• identify the importance of different cultures in the lives of older people and in the use of services
• identify sexual orientation and gender diversity as part of older people's identity
• find solutions to support good old age and inclusion of different older people

• cultural sensitivity
• methods that support communication and clear communication
• disability in old age such as intellectual disability, sensory disability, physical disability
• sexual orientation of the older people and gender diversity

Assessment methods and criteria

Arvioinnista ja tehtävistä

- Arviointiasteikko 0-5, jatkuva arviointi, ks. arviointikriteerit opetussuunnitelman liitteestä
- Opintojakson kirjalliset tehtävät edellyttävät annettujen ja soveltuvien lähteiden käyttöä.
- Tehtävät tulee palauttaa annetun aikataulun mukaan.
- Opintojakson osasuoritukset (esim. kirjalliset tehtävät ja verkkokeskustelut) arvioidaan ja vaikuttavat kokonaisarvosanaan.
- Hyväksyttyä kirjallista tehtävää ei ole mahdollista korottaa.
- Läsnäolo opetuksessa ja aktiivinen osallistuminen opetukseen vaikuttaa arviointiin.
- Opintojaksolla ei ole käytössä poissaolon korvaavaa tehtävää.
