Objective

The student is able to describe the layered structure of skin and the purpose of the structure of layers. The student is able to describe skin and nail anomalies as well as the mechanism of skin diseases. The student recognizes the most common skin and nail anomalies and skin and nail diseases and is able to differentiate them. The student is able to assess the level of severity and extent as well as is knowledgeable of the appropriate treatment methods and the supporting external pharmacological treatment.

The student is knowledgeable of the key laboratory tests for skin and nail diseases. The student is knowledgeable of the surgical treatments of skin and nail diseases. The student is able to describe the principles of general pharmaceutical treatment for skin and nail diseases. The student is able to describe the indicators for the pharmaceutical treatments of central skin and nail diseases, mechanisms of action as well as recognizes their commercial names. The student is aware of combined effects of the medicines and the changes in skin and nail caused by the medicines.
