Objective

The student understands the basics of user-oriented design and is able to utilise their knowledge in the development of XR services and applications. The student is able to work professionally in client projects.

Content

During the course, the student expands their XR and project working skills by applying and further developing acquired skills and knowledge. The course focuses on user-oriented design and user experience through the implementation of a service concept operating in an XR environment.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student knows the basics and techniques of user-oriented design. The student recognizes the importance of a research approach in the design of services. He / she is able to produce documentation and outline the processes of service design. The student knows about the use of prototypes as a design tool.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The student masters and is able to apply the basics and techniques of user-oriented design. The student is able to evaluate the significance of a research approach related to the design of services to the quality of design work. The student understands the meaning of documentation and is able to produce it. He masters the processes of service design. The student masters the utilization of prototypes as part of design work.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student masters and is able to creatively apply the basics and techniques of user-oriented design. The student understands and is able to comprehensively evaluate the significance of the research approach related to the design of services for the quality of design work. The student is able to apply documentation methods and deeply understand the importance of documentation in design. He understands the processes of service design and is able to shape them creatively and needs-based. The student is able to look extensively at the utilization of prototypes as part of design work.

The student is familiar with the concepts and basics of user-oriented design. He is familiar with the key tools and techniques of service design. The student recognizes the importance of a research approach in the design of services. He / she is able to produce documentation of his / her work and outline the processes of service design. The student knows about the use of prototypes as a design tool.

Prerequisites

The student must have completed the courses “3D Software, Polygon Modelling and Animation”, “Game Engines and Real-Time Rendering”, “XR Technologies and Ecosystems” and “XR Product Design”.
