Objective

After completing this course, the student
• is are able to write their final project report
• can identify development needs in their own field, outline a research topic and choose an appropriate research method to address the research question
• can find source material and review it critically
• can write an academic paper pertaining to their professional field and justify their arguments
• knows the principles of expository, research and industry-specific writing
• is familiar with the research information sources and specialist publications within their field and can use them to form the information basis for their paper
• can present the main contents of their paper concisely with examples and/or visuals
• can assess their own skills, justify their solutions, give constructive feedback on other students’ work and reflect on their own learning process
• is able to report on and present their final project.

Students can identify development needs in their own field, outline a research topic and choose an appropriate research method to address the research question. They are able to find relevant source material and use the material to form the information basis for their paper. Students can write an academic paper, justify their arguments and present their topic in a clear manner.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

Students can identify development needs in their own field, outline a research topic and choose an appropriate research method to address the research question. They are able to find and critically review relevant source material and use the material comprehensively to form the information basis for their paper. Students can write an academic paper, justify their arguments and present their topic in a clear and informative manner. Students are able to produce new and relevent information for the field of live performance engineering.
