Objective

After completing the course, the students are able to:
• recognize high-quality casual wool coats and jackets.
• make patterns for casual outerwear by combining different patterning methods.
• analyze the cuts, materials and accessories that most affect the fit of the garment from the point of view of the target group.
• use material and accessory supplier networks.
• choose the appropriate materials and accessories.
• place measures and make production instructions for challenging outerwear garments including sample sizing and grading.
• understand the counter sampling as part of product development and quality management.
• understand sample commenting practices from the manufacturing point of view.

Content

Manufacture of an overcoat or a jacket sample. Sample evaluation by expert teams and commenting into the instructions. Search of the material suppliers required for the counter sample, and their reporting into the instructions. Measurement table and guidelines for outsourced manufacturing. The importance of a high-quality counter sample as part of quality control in manufacture.
