Clinical Nursing (15 cr)

Objective

Students
- deepen their evidence-based competence in accordance with the key competence areas of nursing: clinical, decision-making, patient education, interaction, ethical, health promotion, and development and leadership competence
- can evaluate their evidence-based development and assume responsibility for the quality of nursing in their own actions
- are prepared for future-oriented and patient/client-oriented development of nursing
- deepen their competence in planning, implementing, evaluating and developing patients’ clinical (medical-surgical) nursing in different operating environments
- deepen their competence in supporting and giving guidance to patients and their significant others in different phases of the clinical pathway

- evidence-based nursing and its development
- nurses’ expertise and multiprofessional teamwork and networks
- health technology and competence in future nursing
- advanced studies in nursing of medical-surgical patients
- patient education supporting patient’s resources and empowerment; supporting and providing guidance to significant others
- specific questions related to the study unit

Student workload

Opintojakson laajuus on 15 op eli opiskelijalle 405 tuntia työtä. Tästä tuntimäärästä lukujärjestyksessä näkyvä opetus vaatii läsnäoloa opetuksessa, loppuosuus muodostuu erilaisesta itsenäisestä opiskelusta yksin tai pienryhmissä.

Content scheduling

Opetus ajoittuu viikoille 33 - 40. Orientaatio opintojaksoon on x (kts. lukujärjestys) ja siihen osallistuminen on pakollista. Lisätietoa toteutuksen etenemisestä ja toteutuksen materiaaleista saat Moodlesta, joka esitellään orientaatiotunnilla.

Opiskelija vahvistaa paikkansa opintojaksototeutuksella olemalla läsnä opetuksen alkaessa. Jos opiskelija ei sairauden vuoksi pysty osallistumaan opetuksen alkuun, hän voi myös vahvistaa opiskelupaikkansa ilmoittamalla siitä opettajalle etukäteen.

Kyseessä on sairaanhoitajakoulutuksen syventävän vaiheen opintojakso ja lukusuunnitelman mukaisesti se ajoittuu opintojen viimeiselle lukukaudelle. Opintojakson suorittaminen edellyttää, että kliinisen ammattiopintoihin sisältyvät teoriaopinnot ja näihin kuuluvat kliinisen harjoittelut on suoritettu. Kliinisen hoitotyön harjoittelu 7 - Sairaanhoitajan asiantuntijuusosaaminen voi suorittaa vasta, kun kaikki perusharjoittelut on suoritettu.
Opintojakso vaatii paljon työskentelyä, joten muiden opintojen suorittaminen samanaikaisesti on haasteellista.
Mikäli opiskelijalla on oikeus pidennettyyn tenttiaikaan, tulee asiasta ilmoittaa opintojakson opettajille mahdollisimman pian orientaation jälkeen.

Qualifications

The student may choose the nursing expertise studies when he has completed the theoretical studies included in the professional nursing studies and clinical practices included in these, unless otherwise agreed in the student's ISP.
