Objective

Learning outcomes
As a student, you are able to describe the basic structure of the cells in the human body and the functions of the cells’ different parts. You are able to name the basic types of tissue in the body and know their main locations in the body. You recognise the main types of epithelia. You are familiar with the importance of regulating osmotic pressure and the mechanisms for regulating pH, and understand their importance in the functioning of the body. You are able to explain the structures and functioning of the key organ systems as well as the basics of the immunological system. You are able to describe the main features of the human nervous system as well as name and identify the main peripheral nerves that are relevant to the biomedical laboratory scientist’s work. You are able to name and identify the key anatomical structures for sampling activities. You are able to define the different hormone types, name the endocrine glands and describe the effects of hormones on target cells. You understand the central aetiology of diseases and changes related to diseases, and understand the general principles of the recovery process. You identify the physiological mechanisms of the emergence and development of diseases.

Exam schedules

Net exams in your Moodle workspace

Patophysiology exams in 28.9.-15.10.
Bone and musculature exams in 12.10-22.10.
Anatomy and Physiology exams in 1.11-22.11

Do notice that you can take all the exams three times during their open period. So you can have re takes or raise your numbers. If you fail an exam, you will do it with next group.

Completion alternatives

Exam
Aknowledgement of earlier achievments.
Pedagogic solutions of partial aknowledgements can be given ether from whole Patophysiology (1 cr) or from whole Anatomy anad Physiolofy (4 cr).
