Objective

After completing the course, students have an overall view of the process automation and its significance as an enabler of production. In addition, the student knows the most common instruments and field devices, the basics of analog and digital data transfer techniques, process automation systems, process control and basics of standard documentation.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student understands the basic concepts of automation and overall vision of automation solutions. The student knows some components and field devices. The student is familiar with the flow diagrams related to field devices and instrumentation.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

In addition to the above, the student also understands and is able to utilize knowledge in the basic process solutions

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

In addition to the above, the student can plan simple automation implementations and evaluate usability.
