Objective
The student understands the basics of district heating production. The student is able to design district heating and cooling networks. The student is able to manage the construction work of district heating and cooling networks. The student knows the end-use equipment of district heating and cooling.
Content
-District heat generation: CHP, heat plants, solar, ground heat pumps and other heat pump applications
-Production and distribution network of district cooling
-The equipment of district heating network
-Construction and design principles for district heating and cooling networks
-End-use of district heating and cooling

The student understands the basics of district heating and cooling network design.
The student understands the basics of district heat and cold production.
The student knows the end use equipment.

The student masters the basics of district heating and cooling network design.
The student understands and is able to calculate the basics of combined heat and power, heat pumps and solar heat.
Assessment criteria, excellent (5)
The student is able to design district heating and cooling networks.
The student masters the basics of electricity and heat production.
The student knows the end-use equipment and can take these into consideration as part of the design.
Prerequisites
The student will be able to read and draw technical drawings and process flow diagrams.The student knows the basics of material sciences. The student can solve pressure loss calculations and choose correct pump. The student is familiar and understands the basics of electricity and heat production.
