Objective

On completion of the course the student is able to estimate construction costs based on a quantity list.
The student understands how to use InfraRYL in calculations.
The student can apply the principles of cost estimation in planning and on the site.

5. Producing a tender and a call for tenders

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

On completion of the course the student
- can estimate costs of a project
- can produce a list of quantities
- can divide the project in phases
- can use InfraRYL and understands its purpose.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

In addition to the previous criteria, the student
- can produce a quantity list based on a simple plan
- can prepare a tender based on planning documents
- knows the basics of construction cost calculation software
- understands the importance of change management in a construction project.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

In addition to the requirements listed above, the student can
- calculate costs and quantities in an infrastructure project and schedule these
- apply procurement legislation
- prepare a call for tenders for a complex project
- prepare a tender for a complex project.

On completion of the course the student
