Objective

The student
• knows the factors that affect corporate image design and understand their role in image building
• perceives an image building project as an entity and can implement projects to meet the needs of the client
• can apply their knowledge in graphic design and typography in theory and practice
• can choose the appropriate design tools and materials for a graphic design project and they manage the production process in the role of graphic designer
• can choose the right colour settings for their work and produce a file that is fit for offset or computer printing
• understands copyright legislation and is able to comply with it in their work.

• Acquiring advanced skills in graphic design and typography and applying them in practice
• Visual image as part of corporate identity
• Brand building and management
• Fundamentals and history of logo design
• Colours in corporate graphics
• Corporate image in a digital environment
• Corporate image guidelines
• Planning and execution of a presentation
• Creating and checking files to be fit for production and use
• Copyright legislation

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student
• knows the factors that influence the visual image design and understands their significance
• understands the main content of the visual image project and is able to implement it
• is able to choose appropriate design tools and understands the graphic production process to the extent required for design work
• understands the significance of copyright law from a designer’s perspective
• is able to work both independently and as a member of a group
• is able to present the material they produce.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The student
• knows the factors influencing the visual image design and understands their significance
• is able to implement the project, respecting the assignment
• knows the design tools and materials of their choice and masters the graphic production process to the extent designated by the design work
• is familiar with copyright law, understands its significance and is able to utilise it in their design work
• is able to work both independently and as a member of a group
• is able to present the material they produce in a visually interesting way.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student
• has in-depth knowledge of the factors influencing the visual image design and understands their significance
• is able to implement the project analytically and creatively, respecting the assignment
• is able to choose appropriate design tools, materials and channels
• masters the graphic production process to the extent required by the design work
• is familiar with copyright law, understands its significance and is able to utilise it in their design work
• is able to work smoothly both independently and as a member of a group
• is able to present the material they produce in a convincing and visually interesting way.

Qualifications

The student advisor will recommend optional programme components for each student based on their individual study plan.
