Objective

Learning outcomes
As a student you are able to explain the structure and functions of the human genome and regulation of these functions, as well as the links of these factors to disease mechanisms. You understand the importance of genetic testing in the diagnostics of diseases. You are able to describe the differences between nucleic acids, the formation of the chromosomes and the different ways they are passed on. You are familiar with the basic principles of molecular biology methods and genetic engineering methods and their areas of application. You are able to perform basic genetic tests and understand the significance of the different steps in these tests. You are able to use data systems and apply the principles of the quality system and occupational safety in your work. You understand the ethical questions and challenges involved in genetic engineering.

Further information

Guided assignments + learning diary are compulsory.
If student are pregnant she can't participate to histology.
Principles of Acceptance of Entries
- first accepting those students belonging to the group or groups to which the implementation is directed
Secondly, the accelerators are approved if they are suitable for the implementation
- any other approval procedures.
If no performance has been made for the 2nd renewal date
the implementation is evaluated as rejected and the student must register for the new implementation.
If the student has not returned the given assignments by another renewal date,
the student is removed from the implementation so that he can enroll for the new implementation
possible.
If the student is performing part-performances as he / she is applying for a new one
through a course implementation, he will accept parts of the implementation through the normal AHOT procedure
• If a student registers as absent and the renewal is due for an absence period, the student
after returning, reopens by agreeing to the implementation with the responsible teacher.
Replacement of absenteeism
• The default missing lab is replaced with the next agreed implementation.
The teacher announces the laboratory replacement principles in the implementation plan.
Participation in study guidance
• The student is obliged to take part in study guidance, such as implementation
orientaatiotuntiin.
• If a student is prevented from attending, he / she must independently determine the instructions presented in the guidance
things from the teaching material or from other participants.
The grade of the course can be increased with implementation in connection with said renewal fields.
The increase applies to the entire course of the course and can be implemented only once within the framework of the renewal fields.
Guided laboratory assignments are compulsory.
To pass the whole course a student must pass all assignments and the final exam.
Students must confirm their attendance for a course implementation by being present when tuition begins. Students who are unable to attend the first teaching session due to illness may also confirm their attendance by informing the lecturer of this in advance.

Assessment methods and criteria

Opintojaksossa osaamisen arviointi perustuu jatkuvaan arviointiin. Toteutus sisältää arvioitavia oppimistehtäviä ja/tai ns. välitenttejä, joiden pistemäärä lisätään tentin pistemäärään. Kokoavasta lopputentistä tulee saada vähintään 50% oikein.
Arviointi asteikko:
Oppimistehtävät: hyväksytty/täydennettävä/pisteytetyt tehtävät
Kokoavan tentin arviointi 0-5
Opintojakson arvosanaa on mahdollista korottaa yhden kerran toteutuksella mainittujen uusintatenttien yhteydessä.
opiskelija poistetaan toteutukselta, jotta uudelle toteutukselle ilmoittautuminen on
mahdollista.
