Objective

Learning outcomes
As a student you recognise the significance of histological tests to the diagnostics of diseases and to treatment of patients. You identify general pathology phenomena in the human body and the most typical pathological changes specific to different organs. You recognise different tissue types based on cell morphology.
You are able to perform basic histological tests and understand the significance of the different steps in these tests. You can explain the significance of autopsies. You use data systems and apply the principles of the quality system and occupational safety in your work.

Content

Contents

Tumours, special characteristics of the diseases of different organs
Sampling techniques
Processing tissue samples, rapid section techniques, basic staining techniques and the most common diagnostic stains
