Objective
Students encounter the person professionally, appreciatively and empathically with health-promoting approach. Students work in a person-oriented manner, and in dialogical interaction with the person. Students are able to examine and treat the tissues of the areas of head, cervical spine, thorax, pelvis and limbs with osteopathic techniques. Student sensitizes and accurately target their palpation in osteopathic manual techniques. Students recognise the indications, contraindications of osteopathic techniques applied to areas concerned, such as the manipulation technique HVLA (high velocity low amplitude), and are able to explain the effect mechanisms of the techniques by applying research knowledge.
Health promoting guidance and counselling 1 cr
Students understand the importance of self-care and exercise to health, and are able to justify it as part of osteopathic therapy. Students are able to plan and guide individual and safe self-care instructions for the person to promote health and to support osteopathic treatment. Students can justify their patient guidance based on anatomy and physiology. Students are able to make use of verbal, visual and tactile guidance.
