Objective
The student can utilise and develop further their musical and pedagogical knowledge and skills in early childhood music education, in facilitating the first steps of instrumental or vocal studies, and in working with different groups and various contexts of music activities. The student is able to enhance meaningful learning in music and facilitate self-expression with various teaching methods, elements of music education practice and by working with various genres of music.
The student can use their diverse musical skills as part of pedagogical activities in different working life contexts, and they can direct their own continuous musical development as an element of own continuing professional development of a music educator. They can utilize their musical skills in an inspiring, intentional and goal-oriented way in pedagogical processes, as well as work in different ensembles and situations of musical interaction.
Content
Reflecting on the background of pedagogical thinking in teaching music and community arts, new applications of pedagogical practice following personal reflections, artistic activities as part of a music pedagogue’s professional skill set, learner-centered approaches, leading group processes, working in various situations of working life collaboration, preparing for and constructing pedagogical processes, individual and group reflection.

Prerequisites
The student is able to construct and implement diverse and creative group activities considering the needs of the learners in different environments. The student can work purposefully in the creative activities they have constructed, participate flexibly in teamwork and take into account the different needs of learners. The student is able to apply music education methods to community music contexts also beyond the traditional education sector. They use creativity, musical artistic expression, composition and improvisation in their practice and reflect on the effects of pedagogical choices on group activities and learning. They are able to analyse the group process and teaching situation on a level deeper than the visible.
