Objective

Students can describe main mental health disorders and their underlying factors. Students are able to form and develop a therapeutic relationship with clients based on interaction. The student can describe the methods used in the identification of mobility and body awareness and methods of physiotherapy that promote mobility and body awareness. The student knows how to promote and support the client’s
participation and physical activity behaviour in different environments. The student can combine the psychomotor approach to the planning, guidance and assessment of mobility. The student understands the importance of adapted physical activity as well as the special features of guidance skills in mental health work. The student can assess the important of their own activities in the success of a guidance situation.

Examinations and treatment of mental health patients
Therapeutic relationship in physiotherapy
Identifying the change in mobility and body awareness
Promoting mobility and body awareness in physiotherapy
Psychomotor approach in applied physical activity
Promoting the self-regulating skills/readiness of a rehabilitator/therapist

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Students use the appropriate core concepts as well as make choices using the knowledge base of their own professional field. They recognise the prerequisites and consequences of their own actions. Students’ actions follow the rules and instructions given, and they use working methods appropriately and safely. Students work according to the professional ethics of their own field, and they act responsibly as group members.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

Students analyse the relationships between appropriate core concepts as well as justify their choices using the knowledge base of their own professional field. They analyse the prerequisites and consequences of their own actions. Students act according to the rules and instructions given in their operating environment, and they use working methods appropriately and safely. Students work according to the professional ethics of their own field, and they act flexibly as group members.

They assess the prerequisites and consequences of their own actions. Students act initiatively and goal-orientedly in diverse operating environments, and they apply working methods appropriately and safely. Student knows the basics of assessment and promotion of functioning in physiotherapy. Student knows the basics of body functions and structures. Students can describe the basics of developmental psychology and psychophysical physiotherapy.
