Objective

The students
- acquire the skills for the commonest fluoroscopy examinations and procedures
- become familiar with patient preparation, observation during examination and
ensuring safety, including aftercare and guidance
- know aseptic methods and follow the principles of sterile working
- observe radiation safety (staff, patient, dose optimisation, radiation protection)
- know how to act and take responsibility in first aid and resuscitation situations
- understand circulatory anatomy and physiology
- know how to administer safe drug treatment in radiology interventions and examinations
- know how to take an ECG and knows the basics of interpreting the result

Content scheduling

Ennen opintojakson alkua mahdollisten ennakkotehtävien tekeminen. Työelämäharjottelu teoria- ja laboraatio-opintojen jälkeen. Yhteinen tentti (kliininen hoitotyö ja radiologiset toimenpiteet) ennen harjoittelujakson alkua. Ennen opintojaksolle osallistumista tulee olla hyväksytysti suoritettuna "Hoitotyö kliinisessä radiografiassa" tai "Radiologisen potilaan hoito terveydenhuollon toimintaympäristöissä" -opintojakso.

Further information

Theory classes, simulation and laboratory work are compulsory.
Before the start of the course, students will possible make a preliminary assignments.
Students must confirm their attendance for a course implementation by being present when tuition begins or in another manner agreed with the lecturer; for example, by returning the first course assignment. Students who are unable to attend the first teaching session due to illness may also confirm their attendance by informing the lecturer of this in advance.
