Objective

The student will be able to interpret the financial statement for a company and will be familiar of the basic concepts of cost accounting. Student understands what the role of Business Controller in organizations is and can create a budget. Student understands connection between strategy and performance indicators and understands importance of sustainability reporting.

This course is aimed for one that has immigration background and speaks Finnish in B1-level. Teaching in slow, plain Finnish (called selkosuomi). Lectures are at the day-time and requires active participation. Course requires a lot of time used outside the classroom. Studying requires accounting skills, previous education or work experience.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

The student has achieved the course objectives. Student will be able to identify, define and use the course subject area’s concepts and models. The student understands the criteria and principles of the expertise development.
