Objective

The student becomes familiar with sound synthesis and the operating principles and architectures of synthesizers. The student knows how to design and produce desired sounds and effects in a digital audio workstation environment. The student understands the operating principles of sound samplers as well as knows how to use them and how to build their own sampling instruments. The student is able to use sound synthesis and sampling in a creative manner in their own music making.

Prerequisites

Completion of the Introduction to Studio Work and Music, Lyrics and Demo Production courses or equivalent skills and knowledge.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

- Attending tuition
- Completing and submitting the given exercises and assignments according to the agreed schedule
- Preparing a final work, in the music of which the student has used sampling instruments constructed by themselves and self-programmed sounds that utilize various forms of synthesis.
