Objective

There will be done a pre-study or a design work for a coating shop or line. A process for manufacturing of paint or other coating product or optimizing the process may be under study. The work will include a market study, technical design of the process plant, cost and feasibility study. Requirements for authorizations will be surveyed. A maintenance plan and instructions for measurements for maintenance will be done. Mathematics will consist of the basics of the design of experiments.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student is able to
1. describe the tasks, problem solving tools and data sources used by professionals in his/her own field
2. explain how projects are managed, and how project tasks connect to each other
3. display learning in the key safety practices in the field
4. work in various duties, describe his/her own contribution to the group’s work and co-operate within the group
5. plan the use of his/her own resources and deliver the contributions on scheduled time
6. describe the work and results of his/her group
7. work with the group and, if necessary, re-organize the work
The project has been completed and its results are reported.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The student is able to
1. use concepts and knowledge in his field fluently and comprehensively
2. make a project plan for his/her group and act as group leader or an active member
3. execute the project plan goal-oriented and act independently and responsibly in professional contexts
4. plan operations with safety in mind
5. describe the principles and results of quality assurance of his/her group
6. present orally and in writing the project plans and results of his/her group.
The project achieves the targets set to it.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student is able to
1. apply professional information in professional assignments
2. plan and make schedules for a large project that has several sub-tasks
3. plan the quality assurance principles for the whole project
4. organize and manage the operation of a group and project
The project is finalized and reported on time and it achieves or exceeds the targets set to it.
