Objective
The course will provide students with an understanding and knowledge to the main content of life cycle assessment including definition of a product system, data collection, inventory analysis and impact assessment. After completion of this course students can perform LCA independently and they understand the importance of the source of errors to the results of LCA.
Content
-Definition of coals and the product system of life cycle assessment
-Performance of inventory analysis and impact assessment
-The critical analysis of LCA and conclusion making.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
The student is able to define or describe the subject matter related to the concepts and phenomena qualitatively and calculate the associated basic quantitative comparisons and calculations.
Assessment criteria, good (3)
The student is able to apply, calculate, change and choose the concepts related to the matter and phenomena qualitatively and calculate the basic quantitative calculations as well as to complete and produce the necessary information for the calculations.
Assessment criteria, excellent (5)
The students is able to categorize, collect, combine and generalize the concepts related to the matter and phenomena qualitatively and calculate the basic quantitative calculations as well as derive and rearrange given basic information.
Assessment criteria, approved/failed
The student is able to define or describe the subject matter related to the concepts and phenomena qualitatively and calculate the associated basic quantitative comparisons and calculations.
Prerequisites
The student masters the basics of statistical tests and their applications.
