    Learning outcomes of the course
    This course provides students with the knowledge and skills to utilize Windows PowerShell for administering and automating administration of Windows based servers and workstations.
    Prerequisites and co-requisites
    This course is intended for IT Professionals already experienced in general Windows Server and Windows Client administration, including Active Directory administration. No prior experience with any version of Windows PowerShell, or any scripting language, is assumed.

    The course materials consist of textbooks, lesson handouts and slides, and laboratory instructions. All material is in English. The course materials can be downloaded thru links at the end of section.

    Planned learning activities and teaching methods

    The course is performed in a Microsoft Windows AD environment. The prerequisites for taking this course are Windows operating systems.

    The course exercises are performed using the student's own host computer. The device requirements are:

    8 GB RAM Minimum
    Hyper-V-virtualization: Intel Virtualization Technology (Intel VT) or AMD Virtualization (AMD-V) processor
    Second level address translation, SLAT (Windows 8.1 or Windows 10 Hyper-V, Windows version: Education, Professional, Enterprise and Ultimate)
    25 GB free disk space
    Internet connection.

    Building the course exercises environment requires Windows knowlege:

    Hyper-V environment
    Downloading images from cloud services
    Configuring virtual machines.


    The course virtual machines can be downloaded from Metropolia file server. Instructions are in the Exercise environment section.

    When the exercise environment is ready, course exercises are performed and the theory is studied. At the end an on-line final test is taken.

    Assessment methods and criteria

    Laboratory Exercises and final test has been done.

    The final test contains ?80 multi-choice questions and its duration is 150 minutes.

    The minimum passing score for the test is 700/1000. If not achieved, the student needs to retake the test. The retake limit is 3!
