Objective

Student knows the components in a modern vehicle equipped with an electric powertrain, key component specifications and the relationship between components and vehicle key figures : range, environmental factors and vehicle manufacturing costs.

Student knows different battery- and electric motor techniques, charge standards and practical examples of production vehicle applications.

Student knows electric vehicle strengths and weaknesses compared to other powertrain solutions including environmental and social points of view.

Typical electric vehicle components and high voltage system architecture
Electric vehicle energy storage solutions and batteries
Electric vehicle charging systems and -standards
Electric vehicle powertrain design

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Sufficient performance: the student has completed basic requirements to pass the course and has demonstrated some ability to apply knowledge in the learning assignments related to working life. His/her analytical skills and/or the development approach need major improvement.
