Objective

The student is able to utilize various devices used to measure functional capacity in podiatry, data collection methods, measuring types, as well as is able to assess the reliability of the devices and measurements. The student is able to palpate various anatomical structures, and describe the findings using various palpation techniques. The student is knowledgeable of ideal upright posture characteristics. The student is able to manage the methods of lower extremity alignment, foot load, upright posture and balance assessment. The student understands the principles of joint range of motion and manual muscle testing and is able to adapt the information while evaluating the client.
