Objective

The student is able to explain the interaction of the musculoskeletal structure and functions by describing the tissue properties. The student utilizes professional terminology and concepts of the musculoskeletal system. The student can name musculoskeletal bones and the details of lower extremity bone structure. The student is able to describe the structure and function of lower extremity joints. The student names the main structures of the spine and explains the function. The student is able to recognize the rib cage bones.

The student recognizes lower extremity muscles. The student explains the movements they create by understanding the significance of muscle origins and insertions in open and closed kinetic chains. The student is able to describe in detail the leg and foot muscle locations. The student analyses the impact of muscles especially on ankle movements and foot position maintenance. The student recognizes the main core muscles and their function. The student utilizes professional terminology while describing the structure. The student is able to explain the upright posture control and regulation mechanisms.
