Students
- understand the ethical, pedagogical and methodological standpoint of patient education
- can plan, implement and evaluate patient education in a family-oriented way in cooperation with other experts
- understand the significance of illness and various care environments to a child, a young person and his/her family and are able to support and promote the health and wellbeing of families with children

Further information
The student must have knowledge of the basics of pharmacotherapy and nursing of an internal medicine patient. It is recommended that the course be studied in the second semester at the earliest.
Attendance:
Compulsory participation in orientation, preclinicals, simulation. Theory teaching is highly preferred.
Additional information:
Earlier studies can be replaced (recognition of prior learning, AHOT) by contacting the tutor teacher. Decision need to be completed one month before the course.
Accepted decision of longer time in an exam need to be informed for the contact teacher before the start of the course.
