YOUTH AS A PHASE OF LIFE (Peili project version)
5 ects credits
Groups: SXG17S1, SXH18K1, SXH17S1, SXH18K2; occupational therapy groups x. Max. 12 students.
Teachers: Jouni Piekkari, lecturer (MA, social welfare); visiting lecturers.
DESCRIPTION OF PEILI-PROJECT REALISATION OF THE MODULE:
The module will be realised in connection with Peili - find your stregths with assistance of artificial intelligence project. In the module the student will be familiar with the models and mobile application, which aim at recognizing where the young person is “stuck” or where he finds “sparks” in his life (strenghts and challenges) and councel the young person for a designed future. The peer group is in essential role in the model.
In the module we will test also the AI based mobile application that is under development. Through various tests, it aims at identifying ones strenths and challenges and guiding the young person to councelling services and hobbies. The app also tackles to the challenges of health and physical and mental welfare.
In contact workshops the student will experience one´s own personal future planning process together with a peer group. This happens through group exercices and tests and Peili and possibly other mobile apps. Through the process the student will familiarize herself with the Peili 4-phase model and its tools. The aim is to test the Peili model as a tool for student welfare and future coaching.
During the study module, the student will perform a process with the target group (16-29 year old youth) in collaboration a chosen organisation which offers councelling services for this target group (organisations will be informed in the beginning of the module). The student will facilitate in pairs a group process in weekly meetings.
