Objective

Students
- can encounter and maintain nursing interaction in cooperation with clients with mental health problems and substance abuse problems including their significant others in various operating environments to promote mental health and prevent problems in a resource-oriented way
- understand the impact of mental health and use of intoxicants on the wellbeing of individuals and their significant others
- can plan, implement and evaluate mental health and substance abuse nursing
- can support a client in acute crisis
- can act in multidisciplinary teams and networks.

Participation in orientation is obligatory.
All absences must be compensated.
Psychology (1 cr) consist from preliminary assignments in Moodle. After you have done those you can attends to two lessons which includes exam from these topics.
First year studies must be completed (ca. 55 cr.) and Pharmacotherapy 1.
Students must confirm their attendance for a course implementation by being present when tuition begins or in another manner agreed with the lecturer; for example, by returning the first course assignment. Students who are unable to attend the first teaching session due to illness may also confirm their attendance by informing the lecturer of this in advance.

A student must ably for possible recognition of prior learning (RPL) prior the course. If a pedagogical solution has been granted, a student must enroll to the course and attend the orientation session. After the orientation session student will discuss with the teacher about completing the course. After the course has commenced, students with pedagogical solution or personal study plans will not be accepted for the course.
