Objective
Students will assess their own expertise and determine their development needs by reflecting on self-management and their own resources. They will utilise tacit knowledge as a resource for leadership and deepen their work ethics and emotional competence in leadership. Students will know the basics of age management and apply theoretical knowledge to their leadership role in a versatile way. Students will recognise the challenges and strategic objectives related to leadership, and their significance to management and the development of working community. They will be familiar with questions related to workplace and team dynamics, as well as be able to analyse the basic structures and strategies of organisations and working communities.
Content
Teaching will be integrated in project format into a leadership and development internship in elderly care. Self-management and use of tacit knowledge as a resource for leadership. Leadership ethics, values and principles of organisations as part of quality management. Workplace dynamics and principles of group work and teamwork. Development of the work community and its key methods. Strategic operations management. Personnel management.
