Objective

Students are familiar with theoretical models of occupational therapy for analysing the environment. Students are able to associate mental and bodily functions and the role of culture with occupation. They are aware of their own and other people’s prejudices, values, beliefs and customs. Students understand relationships between participation, society and the environment as well as the principles and dimensions of sustainable development. Students are able to analyse the accessibility of environments from the perspective of participation.

Teaching methods

Investigative learning, challenging teams and their engagement, planned working method in teams and workshops. The projects are developing while the study module proceeds. Experiences and challenges are peformed in the larger group.
Implementation is partly in Moodle.

Student workload

The actual study module will be launched in Moodle. Studies require orientation time. Learning and presentations require work in advance. Working in teams requires ability to schedule the time in hand.

Failed
- The student does not know or appreciate knowledge in the field sufficiently

- The student withdraws from cooperation with others

Assessment methods and criteria

Preliminary materials and task. Partcipating orientation, tuition, team activity, guidance and presentation of the projects. The engagement level of the student is grucial.

Opiskelija on mukana aktiivisesti, esittää kysymyksiä ja mahdollisesti omia ratkaisujaan ja etsii erilaisia lähteitä tutkivalla otteella. Opiskelija on kriittinen oman oppimisensa suhteen ja etsii innovatiivisesti ratkaisuja käytännön tilanteissa, jotka eivät suju aina kuin Strömsössä.
Kirjallinen tehtävä on kirjoitettu perustuen tehtävänantoon, siinä on käytetty asianmukaisia lähteitä ja se on tehty laajan kirjallisen työn ohjeiden mukaan (Metropolia). Jokainen työryhmän jäsen on osallistunut tasapuolisesti kirjallisen tehtävän kirjoittamiseen ja tehtävän esittämiseen.
