Objective
Students use and apply knowledge on ergonomics to evaluate, plan and implement user-oriented solutions reflecting different needs in relation to environments and devices. Students evaluate environmental solutions promoting individuals’ participation and apply their competence to the planning of barrier free environments. Students familiarize themselves with environmental control devices and understand their significance for client’s autonomy. Students are familiar with clients’ daily activities and deficiencies in them and are able to promote their participation by means of assistive devices. Students are acquainted with assistive devices of special groups and understand factors related to their selection. Students learn various communication methods. They can instruct and educate clients using different communication methods.

•Knowledge foundation of physical ergonomics.
•Evaluation methods and measurements to assess devices, activities and environments.
•Planning environments promoting participation and laws and recommendations on it.
•Evaluating the accessibility of environment and providing suggestions for further development from the perspective of different user groups. •Systems of environmental control devices.
•Assistive devices for daily activities.
•Assistive devices for special groups.
•Assistive devices for persons with sensory defects.
•Communication methods (AAC=Augmentative and Alternative Communication).
•Client education and instruction.
•Evaluation of suitability and function of assistive devices as well as instructions on use.

Students master professional concepts, and they justify their choices using the comprehensive knowledge base, based on the client’s needs. Students assess systematically the prerequisites and consequences of their own actions.
Students act independently and professionally aiming at goals set to them in their operating environment as well as apply working methods appropriately and safely.
Students work according to professional ethics as well as commit themselves to the group, enhancing its functioning.

Students master professional concepts and make choices together with the client using the comprehensive knowledge base. They also assess and develop their own functioning systematically.
Students act independently and professionally aiming at goals set to them in their operating environment. They also apply working methods flexibly and safely.
