Objective
The student understands the underlying elements in group dynamics in creative activities both from learners’ and teachers’ perspectives and can develop their pedagogical thinking. They can reflect on theoretical knowledge underpinning learner-centred music education and use that in developing their own practice and professional knowledge base. The student recognises different pedagogical approaches and the implications of pedagogical actions in opening possibilities for learning in music. They are able to create learning environments and to make plans for activities for groups in music taking a learner-centred approach and a creative attitude. They can reflect on theoretical, experiential and practical knowledge building bridges between different forms of knowledge. They are able to analyse group activities and processes as well as to indicate underlying elements and phenomena in learning/teaching situations. They utilise various elements of music education practice and recognize the possibilities of applying these in other contexts. Students widen actively their understanding about learning, creativity and teaching reflecting on information from various sources and in different forms of knowledge. They can use collaborative learning for the benefit of themselves as well as others.
