Learning outcomes

The student knows the principles of designing woven textiles. He/she is capable of designing different weave structures and can apply the theory of weave drafting to practical work. The student understands the effect of technical structure and material to the surface design of the fabric. The student is capable of producing samples independently.
The student will acquire special technical knowledge of knitted textiles. He/she will be able to design different knitted textile surfaces. The student will recognize special techniques, concepts and qualities of knitted textiles. He/she will be able to choose materials for different purposes and compare knitted materials in relation to the value of use and economic efficiency. The student is able to apply the technical knowledge of the knitted textiles/materials into creative exercises in practise.
